Mom:  Henry, it’s time to put your clothes away.  Remember, shirts in the top drawer, pants in the middle drawer and pj’s in the bottom drawer.

Great.  You’re doing a good job.  Keep it up!

Mom walks out of the room.

Henry:  Hey, what’s this?

Henry:  A toy.  Cool.

Henry:  I must play with this toy now.

Henry:  Yes, this is very important.

Henry:  Ooo.  That’s a nice red shirt he has on.

Henry:   Cool!  He stretches apart!

Henry:  Oh, and he can be my glasses.

Henry:  I must explore this further.

Mom:  Henry…..(from other room) Now that you’re done, come down here and let’s do the next thing.

H:  Can someone please tell me why we have to have clothes anyway?

God Bless My Boys and Yours!

    Love this!
Have seen a similar act here too!

  2. Corie DeVries says:

Oh! I am constantly after my two to keep with it even after I leave the room! Thanks for reminding me that I am not alone! :)

Gina and Corie – Gotta love these days. So soon they will be grown and gone. And it is so easy to think we are the only ones dealing with things like this, and “why can’t they just do what I said to do???” I have to remind myself that we are in training and the definition of training is that they have to practice over and over and over. What’s the verse – Do not grow weary of doing good. Thanks for the visit guys!

Surely that’s not the same little stretchy guy from Aidan’s bowling party in February. If so, I guess they were a good buy!!

  5. Allison says:

    Penny,
I have no idea where it came from, but it is entirely possible. Good job!!!

  6. Catherine says:

Good comment, Allison! They do, indeed, grow out of this stage and it goes by in a blink!! BUT, the training is ever so much worth it!
Caleb just got home from a 3 week stint with a friend and has a new found appreciation for all the training when he was younger!!
    GREAT post, as always!!

    Catherine,
Thanks! You’re such a good mama. You’ve produced some awesome fruit! 6 babies and almost all grown up. The proof is in the pudding.
