I created the confessions below, some people call them affirmations, way back in 2007.  Taking a verse and writing it in First Person. If you have read much about me here, you know I believe that our words are extremely powerful and will dictate what our lives look like.  So we really have to watch our mouths.  And I am certainly preaching to myself here as well as anyone else who wants to listen :)

They cover a few important subjects to me:  health, marriage, children, and basic life.  Maybe pick some that resonate for you, copy them to your own word document, or look up the verse and change it a bit to better reflect you, print them out, post them somewhere and start speaking God’s words over yourself and your household.

My confessions:

I am strong in you Lord. I am empowered through my union with you. I draw the strength through you that your boundless might provides. I put on your whole armor like a heavy-armed soldier, that you provide. And I successfully stand up against all strategies and deceits of the devil. I am fully aware that I am not wrestling with flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world God and when the day of evil comes, I stand my ground. I stand firm. I have tightened the belt of truth around my waist and have put on the breastplate of integrity, moral rectitude, and right standing with God. I have shod my feet in preparation to face the enemy with firm footed stability, promptness and readiness that comes from the Gospel of Peace. I take up the shield of faith and I extinguish all flaming arrows of the evil one. I take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the spirit wields, which is the word of God.
