Our Ashlee came from the same orphange and room as your little guy!! How special! I sent you an email earlier. Thanks!
Oh my. That is amazing! I will respond to your email soon. We just might have to keep in touch for our babies sakes! Btw, my husband went to college at Cornell College.
Great site. My wife and I adopted a 1 year old boy from the same orphanage, bringing him home to Covington, Louisiana in December 2008. We had a great adoption experience in Stavropol with God going before us every step of the way. Thank you for taking the time to share your walk with us.
I didn’t know you had this website till I met with Julie Miller the other day! (She is doing a website for me to sell my book.) I am enjoying perusing your site and am so impressed that you did this yourself!! The post on Psalm 91 and the song is AWESOME!!! Psalm 91 has gotten me through some very tough times…and still does. I love that your kids are starting to sing it too! It truly gives me the greatest peace. Congrats on the site…I’m enjoying it!
ps I’m Jennifer’s sister…just in case you didn’t recognize my last name :)
Yes, I knew who you were immediately. Thanks for all the kind words! I really appreciate it and yes! Psalm 91 is awesome. Something I return to often.
I really had fun learning how to put this site together. I came across some great tutorials that helped and also read a few books. Learned just enough to do the basics:)
Very exciting about your book. I can’t wait to see it. Im sure it’s great! Let me know when it’s out and where I can find your website.
I just looked at this and noticed I did not respond to you. I apologize! Thank you for your kind words and God Bless you for adopting too. We also loved Stavropol. By the way, I went to a wedding in Covington, LA back in about 1980 I think. My cousins live in Lafayette. A wonderful state. God Bless.
I absolutely LOVE your site! You have blessed many women … including me. You may not remember me, but I am a friend of Evie’s. I lived in your “hood” 2 years ago. We have since moved to Colorado and are homeschooling our 10-year old son. We’ve tried all your recipes and they are fabulous! We especially loved the chicken noodle soup. Thanks! I would like to buy the MOMY cookbook, but am hesitant because we are a family of three. Since this is our first year to homeschool, I appreciate all your recommendations and candor.
Yes, of course I remember you! Thank you very much for your kind comments. Those kind of words are great encouragement to keep on keepin’ on! Im so glad to hear you are homeschooling. You will absolutely never regret it. Stick with it. There will be hard times and times filled with doubt, but this IS the right thing. Please let me know if you have any questions or just want to bounce ideas off someone. God Bless You for taking the narrow way.
You are so encouraging! Thanks for your comments about times filled with doubt.
As we approach the end of the school year, I am finding myself wondering if we will ever finish “the books”. Now, I tend to lean more toward the Charlotte Mason approach. Homeschooling an only can be challenging and I am not finding many homeschoolers of one out there. I want to make it fun so my son will want to continue, but at the same time … I am such a list-checker! Your website is a breath of fresh air to me because it helps me see that I can be relaxed and have fun and at the same time, learning is actually happening!
