Henry at 6 months When Henry was a baby, I decided to memorize my first scripture.  I asked my friend Jen, which one I should start with and she recommended Psalm 23.

Put It To Music

I realized quickly that putting it to music would help, so since I was rocking a baby to sleep for naps and at night, I decided to put it to “Rock-A-Bye-Baby” and I could kill 2 birds with one stone.  Always a good thing. I could memorize the chapter AND get the baby to sleep AND hey, maybe, this would be good seed to sow something good into my baby instead of the random words of that original song. So…..I thought this might be helpful to some of you.  If it’s not your cup of tea, at least it is a little entertainment.  Precious Angels.

Gosh, the other thing about this song that I just remembered is I sang it to my Daddy during the last day of his life.  And today is the 4 year anniversary of that day.

This picture of my Dad was taken in the mid 80’s. He was a good-looking guy for sure.

Thanksgiving sometime in the last 6-7 years.  My mom on the far left, then my sis Louisa, her husband Chad, my brother’s girlfriend at the time, my brother Joe, my nephew Gibson, my Dad, Scott – my sister Evie’s husband.  I guess I was taking the picture and Evie was probably wrangling children.

A Psalm for babies just born and grown men on their deathbed.  I love you Daddy.

I can’t believe how big those babies have gotten nor can I believe that it has been four years since that day. I remember that day so well and I know your parents treasured all that time spent together. You are a good daughter.

    Catherine and Kate-
A good daddy is a great thing! How profound they are on their children’s lives. I’m blessed that I have gotten to spend these years in the same town as my parents. Never thought that would actually happen. Thanks guys for your comments.

Is it just me, or is that not the most pinchable baby boy butt on Henry you’ve ever seen??? I definately nominate this one for the video shown at his rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding.

On a completely different note . . . how precious to have all these sweet pictures of your Dad and that he got to have all this time seeing you happy and lovin’ on those beautiful grandkids! I know it brought much joy to the last season of his life and he went on his way knowing he’d created lots of love in the world that lives on . . .

Yes, and that bottom is still just as cute! I asked him if he was ok with me putting that picture on the website and he just quickly said “sure.” Like it was no big deal. Thanks for your sweet comments about my dad. He definitely has a legacy. You and my husband are all about what pictures are going to be shown at the various rehearsal dinners. Funny! Miss you. Come visit.
